Prairie House in the 'Burbs

It's not often I see unique homes in South Tulsa. In fact most of them are pretty un-unique.

That's why it caught my eye when I spotted this prairie-style home near 101st and Garnett. The large overhangs give it a distinctively Wright-esque look. And the large glass areas appear to be structural in some areas.

Anyone know more about it?

I worked on the house briefly when I was employed by Steve Turner. Built for Bill Stokely. Obviously Steve was a huge fan of Wright and they even traveled to Springfield, Il to visit the Dana Thomas house. House has a 2nd story driving range and a coi pond in the entry, very cool. But, of course, anything Steve did was cool. Philip

Well the composition, massing and forms are obviously Wrightian.

But the detailing . . . is there any?

Okay from a distance but up close: blech.

I'm always disappointed when I see someone copying elements of Wright's designs with no apparent understanding of what made the elements of Wright's design vocabulary work together.

It's called "integration" and I'm just not seeing it here.
